Motobu-Ryu is one of the first styles of karate to be taught outside Okinawa. The founders of Goju Ryu, Matsubayashi Ryu and Wado Ryu all studied with Motobu Choki.
This DVD features demonstrations by the current head of Motobu Ryu, Motobu Chosei. The full name of the art is Nihon Denryu Heiho Mobobu Kenpo. Known for its uncomplicated movements and speed, it is well suited to kumite practice.
